For the thirteenth time in 17 years, Manitoba Blue Cross has been named one of Manitoba’s Top Employers by Mediacorp.
"We at Manitoba Blue Cross believe that it's our employees who make us the caring company we are," says Benjamin Graham, president and CEO. "This recognition further confirms how successful we've been at providing the supports our staff want and need to help them continue to thrive."
The Manitoba’s Top Employers competition recognizes Manitoba employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. The criteria include health, financial and family benefits, employee communications, training and skills development, and community involvement.
Our last employee engagement survey found that 92 per cent of employees are proud to work at Manitoba Blue Cross, and 91 per cent would recommend Manitoba Blue Cross as a good place to work.
Our employee engagement efforts have included:
- forming a Learning and Development team to explore providing an internal learning program to help employees stay up to date with industry best practices and company processes
- sourcing opportunities for staff to give back to the community such as with United Way and the upcoming 2023 World Police & Fire Games
- supporting the work of the diversity committee that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion to help ensure both employees and members feel welcomed and supported
“We trust our ongoing efforts, as well as upcoming initiatives like our engagement committee, which will conduct focus groups to better understand what employees care about, will help staff continue to feel proud to work at Manitoba Blue Cross,” Graham says.
